It's seems alright. It's basically the same thing as Ubuntu, a Linux kernel with XWindows running
Gnome.
I fail to see any reason why to use Fedora when I can just install Ubuntu, but maybe there are long time Fedora users who say "Why would I install Ubuntu when I can just install Fedora"
Some of the programs are the same (Totem as the movie player, Firefox for internet) but some things are different.
Like in Ubuntu you type

apt-get install whatever
and in Fedora you type

yum install whatever
My VM doesn't boot now though. I had to make free space so I uninstalled a bunch of stuff and have a feeling I removed something it needs. I made a 5 GB virtual hard drive and that was hardly enough (I had 20 MB left), and Fedora takes longer than Ubuntu to install.
But that's just from my experience so far...
